Library Delivery Driver Description

Up to 13 hours per week
Pay rate: $10.00 per hour

Purpose:

To provide delivery service for the Duluth Public Library.

Functional Areas:

1. Operate a vehicle to transport library materials to various locations.
2. Transport library materials and supplies.
3. Report incidents involving vehicle, materials or equipment to supervisor.

Job Requirements:

1. Possession of a Minnesota driver's license.
2. Driving record free of moving violations for the past three years.
3. Knowledge of the principles of safe and lawful motor vehicle operation.
4. Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the general public.
7. Ability to communicate effectively.
8. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
9. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
10. Ability to frequently bend and stoop, and to occasionally squat, crouch and kneel.
11. Ability to frequently lift and carry equipment and supplies, such as boxes of books weighing up to a total of 50 pounds; and to occasionally lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
