William A. Irvin Museum

Watching freighters steam under the lift bridge is great, but it's time to come aboard a ship. The WILLIAM A. IRVIN was built in 1938 to haul iron ore and limestone as the flagship vessel of U.S. Steel. She sailed for 40 years and retired in excellent condition in 1978. Take an At-Your-Own-Pace tour of our floating museum, steer the captain's wheel in the pilot house, and get a free paper hat at the end!
